AUDIT-C
Alcohol Use Screening
For education. Check every result.
Anatium is a study resource, not medical advice. Nothing here is a diagnosis, a prescription or a substitute for a clinician who has seen the patient. Check every number against a current local protocol before it touches anyone, and never act on a result you cannot reproduce yourself.
How it is calculated
UK audit-c (OHID), the first three questions of the full AUDIT, counted in units. 5 or more is positive: 5-7 increasing risk, 8-10 higher risk, 11-12 possible dependence. The US version counts standard drinks, asks about 6 or more drinks, and is positive at 4 or more in men and 3 or more in women. It screens rather than diagnoses, and a positive result opens a conversation rather than closing one.
