How it is calculated
Parkland: 4 mL x weight(kg) x %TBSA of Ringer's lactate. Half in the first 8 hours counted from the time of injury, not from arrival. It is a starting point - urine output of 0.5 mL/kg/h in adults is what actually guides titration, and %TBSA excludes simple erythema.
