How it is calculated
Simplified PESI: age over 80, history of cancer, chronic cardiopulmonary disease, heart rate 110 or more, systolic BP under 100, oxygen saturation under 90%. It is a prognostic tool for confirmed pulmonary embolism, not a diagnostic one - Wells and PERC answer whether the patient HAS a PE, this answers how dangerous it is.
