Activity of an enzyme protecting red cells from oxidative stress, checked before drugs such as primaquine or rasburicase that trigger haemolysis in deficiency.

When it is low

Deficient: haemolysis with primaquine, tafenoquine, pegloticase, nitrofurantoin, dapsone and sulfonamides. Screen before pegloticase
