About

Serum phosphate. Falls dangerously during refeeding and rises in renal failure.

When it is low

Hypophosphatemia: refeeding syndrome, alcoholism, DKA treatment, antacids

When it is high

Hyperphosphatemia: renal failure, hypoparathyroidism, tumor lysis
