For education. Check every result.
Anatium is a study resource, not medical advice. Nothing here is a diagnosis, a prescription or a substitute for a clinician who has seen the patient. Check every number against a current local protocol before it touches anyone, and never act on a result you cannot reproduce yourself.

About
Core body temperature. Both extremes matter: older and immunosuppressed people often mount NO fever in serious infection, and hypothermia carries a worse prognosis than fever.
When it is low
Hypothermia: May indicate exposure, sepsis, hypothyroidism, or severe infection in elderly/neonates
When it is high
Fever: Indicates infection, inflammation, malignancy, or drug reaction. >38°C often significant
How it is measured
Site matters: Rectal most accurate, oral standard, axillary/temporal less reliable.
