About

Urine passed per kilogram per hour, one of the most useful measures of organ perfusion. Falling output precedes a rising creatinine.

When it is low

Oliguria (<0.5): AKI, hypovolemia, shock. <0.3 for 6h is rifle criteria

When it is high

Polyuria (>2): DI, diuretics, post-obstruction, hyperglycemia

How it is measured

Target ≥0.5 mL/kg/hr. Indicates renal perfusion. Monitor hourly in critical illness.
